Join in on Some Good Things

Star Telegram columnist, O.K. Carter is often the inspiration for this site so I'm unashamedly pointing you to one of his columns this time around. Carter, often highlights things that are lacking in the city, but on August 3 he talked about a number of great things happening in the city that you can be a part of. Please read the article and show your support for this important column by Carter.

  • Living Science Center at River Legacy Park

As their site notes, " The Living Science Center is always looking for enthusiastic people, ages 15 and older, to help out in a variety of ways. If you’re interested in a rewarding experience with us, please call 817.860.6752, and ask for the Volunteer Coordinator."

Please do consider volunteering for this nationally acclaimed center that regularly helps children and adults value and appreciate our environment.

  • Helping Restore Ability

The name is a mouthful, but this organization seems to be making a big difference for people with disabilies in Arlington. Carter mentions they had to cancel a recent fundraiser due to the significant needs in the area. The link will take you to a volunteer page for a variety of needs. When I visited they had diverse needs, including a computer programmer.

  • Mission Arlington

I can't say it often enough, but I really value the work of Mission Arlington. They've helped me and my friends serve the community in meaningful ways many times. Click the name above for their site. The poor of Arlington need your help.
